Oasis College Connection Youth Advisory Board- The Oasis College Connection Youth Advisory Board (OCC YAB) is a leadership and advocacy group for students from MNPS high schools who want to increase college access in Nashville. Mayor’s Youth Council – MYC membership is open to rising high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors who live or attend school in Davidson County. Council members will partner with the Mayor’s Office to focus on specific issues that affect our community. MTA Youth Action Team –  The MTA Youth Action Team at Oasis Center is an organized group of diverse high schools students who use their voice and skills to increase youth ridership for Nashville MTA. Students of Stonewall – SOS is an organized group of diverse high school students and college mentors who lend their voices and skills for positive change in social justice within their community. They build relationships, help communities identify key issues of concern, develop strategies for creating change, and partner with caring adults to create a just environment for all people. For Tuesday 5/17

If you are missing anything regarding your grades- like vocab quizzes – we can take care of that Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday after school.  We will also have time in class on Tuesday – the last day most of you will be in class before exams.

Also, please remember your exam options.  We will discuss those more in class on Tuesday, as needed.

For Friday 5/13

Nice job on your AICE History exams! I’m proud of the work you have done this year.

FOR FRIDAY 5/13: We’ll discuss the exam and anything else regarding grades for the nine-weeks.  If the weather is nice, we’ll probably go outside for some of the period.  Feel free to bring a Frisbee, a soccer ball, or some other outdoor game.  We’ll be discussing the history of outdoor play throughout American historical periods.

For Wed 5/11 – Paper 2!

I’m proud of the work you have done this year.  You guys are awesome, and I think you can do very well on this exam if you put some effort into it!

For Monday 5/9

Paper 1 is done! Many of you seemed to do very well.  Even if you messed up a bit, remember that you could earn a lot of points just by comparing & contrasting the documents and trying to POVL them, even if you didn’t know much about the content.  Time to move on!   Paper 2 Tab

Also check out this AICE History Vocab Review Quizlet put together by one your kind and smart fellow students:  https://quizlet.com/  Search “perichtor”, find user & sets, and use the password “cool”.  Focus on Unit 2 for Paper 1.  The other stuff is for Paper 2.

Be ready to knock it out on Thursday!!!  I’ll be around school Wednesday & Thursday morning before the exams start, if you want to go over anything.  You guys are awesome!!!

HOMEFUN FOR TUESDAY 5/3: Please study for the Cambridge Exam!!!  There are a lot of good resources on the Paper 1 tab above including an exemplar student response with comments from Cambridge graders.  There are also several past papers, rubrics, and examples.

I will not be in class on Tuesday (there will be grief counselors on hand, if you need them).  Please use your class time to study & prepare for Paper 1.  I’m leaving you two examples of past Paper 1 exams and the Unit 2 Major Themes sheet.
